Rich and Satisfying

 “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1 Timothy 6:6-10)

From July 21-24, we had our XEE Facilitator’s Training for all delegates coming from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and even from Singapore. Fifty Two delegates came and our teachers came from Malaysia. This is really exciting because this will launch XEE in the Philippines.

X – This means in algebra to be the unknown. This is the Generation X. These are the people born in the 1980’s. Today, they are in their early 20’s and 30’s. These are the people group that we will be reaching out to. It is also possible to cater to the Y-Generation, those born in the 1990’s. They are now teenagers – those in high school and college.

One of the characteristic of this generation is “immediate gratification.” They recognize their need to develop skills for their life that will enhance their employability. Once they have the resources – they have the tendency to utilize it to the maximum, to meet their heart’s desires. If not careful, they are potential victims of the deception that love of money offers – wandering away from the faith and piercing themselves with much unnecessary pain. 

What this generation longs for is a rich and satisfying life. We hope to share to them that it is not found in the abundance of our material possessions but it is found in Jesus Christ who promised it in John 10:10. Take time to read and claim it. He is able and willing to give such life to us.
